Summer Reading

The Last Night of the Yankee Dynasty. Seems especially timely these days given the vast differences between the team of Paulie et al. and this team of pampered egos who don't know how to play the game.

Sorry, but no matter how well crafted or entertaining a read this book may be, I can't take this book seriously. First, it's written by a putz who allegedly covered the Yanks for the NY Times. Pardon me, but fuck that shit; the Times own a piece of the Red Sox, and their sports section is an unmitigated piece of shit waste of woodpulp. If the byline doesn't read "Anderson" or "Araton," I cannot take anything they churn out seriously.

Second, forty years ago the "Yankee dynasty" was also written off, when the 1965 squad fell flat. They've managed to win more WS titles since then than a large number of teams have ever won, period.
