Dear Yankees Bullpen
Have I mentioned recently that you suck? While it's nice for him that Vlad Guerrero managed to come out of his slump, why where the bases loaded in the first place? And why did it take 3 of you to load the bases and give up the grand slam? 3 of you.
Ah well. At least the O's lost last night too.

Joe's got to take some of the blame here. That game was won. Three run lead in the seventh and what the hell is Scott Proctor doing in there, and then why follow with Groom. Then he says he didn't want to waste Sturtze.
OK, maybe he's worried about the three (of four if you count Rodriguez) of them being overworked. But that's two games this week that have been flat-out given away by saving the big boys and not using them in the innings they're here for. If they're not used in games like this, we might as well not have them. And if they don't get used in games like this, the playoff run that they are being saved for might not even happen.

TG'sT is right: this "saving" the Shut-em Down Squad is bunk; I don't remember hearing this crap when it was Mendoza/Stanton/Nelson/Mo, when the league knew if you weren't leading the Yankees once the sixth inning ended, kiss your ass goodbye.

I rarely pick on Joe.. I figure if I knew more than Joe I'd be the New York Yankees Manager. But in this case I have to agree with TGT and TC. If Joe keeps "saving" these guys so they're not burned out for "the postseason" and in the meantime we keep losing games that (prior to sending in Billy Connor's finest AAA productions) we had won (like last night) then there isn't going to be a post season to save them for!! Groom's stats against lefties seem to fly in the face of using him to get lefties out.

Certainly the situation was mismanaged. Nonetheless, the bullpen still sucks.

Just want to say Proctor sucks. Its only game 2 but I was shocked when I saw him on the mound. He got no one out,and blew the game. Torre is senile at this point for bringing him in. It is almost like giving the game away and it was a tough game.
